WORKSHOP 2: PRACTICAL TECHNIQUES THAT WILL MAKE OCCLUSION WORK IN YOUR PRACTICE

For those doctors wanting to take the quality of their cases to another level, the in-office workshops are for you. These workshops will create an environment where Dr. Phelan and the participants have the opportunity to interact on a more personal level then at a large seminar. This personal attention will allow participants to really improve their techniques and master the details to confidently treat more challenging esthetic and occlusion patients. The workshops are limited to only twelve participants each so that each doctor will have the individual time to develop their skills and confidence. They are designed so that participants will be able to observe Dr. Phelan demonstrate a variety of treatments over the shoulder in his own office. Skills such as digital photography, bite records fabrication, mounting models on an articulator, laser assisted closed flap crown lengthening, occlusal equilibration, esthetic composite mock-up and ultimately treating a veneer case from start to finish will be demonstrated live on real patients.

Another feature of each workshop will be a session where each doctor is asked to bring one or more cases that will be treatment planned by the group with Dr. Phelan directing the discussion. These treatment planning sessions are worth the cost of the entire workshop and will help participants feel confident about treating patients who are already in their practices and ready to go forward with their treatment.

We feel that your continuing educational time is very important yet we also know that time away from your office and families can be difficult so we have designed these workshops to be two days in length. With this in mind, another benefit with these workshops will be a group web based seminar a few weeks in advance to introduce and clarify some of the topics that will be covered. With these webinars you will be able to participate and learn anywhere that you can connect a computer to the Internet. This new format will ensure that all the participants are up to date with the essential concepts prior to the start of the workshop and save valuable time so that they can be two days in length yet cover a tremendous amount of material.

These workshops are for dentists who are committed to learning! Our goal is to create the finest educational experience in dentistry today! We have designed them to be two long days in length and when completed we want you to feel excited and motivated about the direction your practice is heading.

This workshop is designed to take the fear out of treating patients with tooth wear and occlusal problems and is the detailed hands-on continuation of the 2-day COMPRHENSIVE OCCLUSION AND FULL MOUTH REHABILITATION seminar. Learn how to evaluate patients with tooth wear and decide which patients are safe to treat and which ones will need more advanced treatments like changing the VDO, angle of guidance, envelope of function or the condylar position. Dr. Phelan will demonstrate how to perform a simplified equilibration for a patient and participants will practice and master the skills of taking bite records and performing a function analysis. We will also practice trial equilibrations and treatments planning with cases taken from Dr. Phelan’s clinical practice.
